WRC finds employee not entitled to a bonus due to be paid after his employment ended
The issue of bonus payments regularly arises particularly where an employee is leaving close to or at the time of the payment of a bonus.
In recent weeks a Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) adjudicator dismissed a claim under the Payment of Wages Act 1991 for commission payments brought by a sales manager who resigned from his job after 9 months in the role. The claimant brought his action under Section 5 of the Act, which deals with deductions from pay.
