WRC rejects employer's intergenerational mobility justification for declining post retirement fixed term contract
There is an exception under the Employment Equality Acts 1998-2021 that allows employers to impose a mandatory retirement age on employees, provided the retirement age can be objectively justified. Employers should be mindful however that any objective justification they seek to rely on will be rigorously scrutinised by the WRC.
