Ibec understands that every business is different. There are the general issues that affect all businesses and then there are the issues specific to your industry sector.

To reflect the distinct needs of our members, we have over 39 individual trade associations, each supported by a team of industry experts. All our associations provide representation, advice, information, research and training to a wide range of industries at a national, European and international level with the goal of improving the competitiveness of their sector. They also run regular expert briefings, networking and industry-led training programmes for their members.

Our trade associations work with their sectors to address the ongoing challenges including availability and cost of labour, energy supply, planning and infrastructure issues and inflation.

To foster competitiveness and innovation, they enable international engagement and industry and cross-industry collaboration while providing informed perspectives on industry issues, regulation, expert briefings, networking and industry-led training.

Industry advocacy & representation: Through specific industry lobbying, Ibec trade associations work to promote and support an environment that encourages the sustainable development and profitable growth of all our industries. Led by a Board of CEOs and Chief Representatives, strategy is implemented through sector working groups and member taskforces

Working group & international memberships: Ibec trade associations offer a wide range of working groups and committees where you can keep up to speed on the topics most relevant to your role. Ibec collaborates closely with 40 of our counterparts from 35 countries in advancing a competitive agenda for Europe.

Support on regulation developments: Our trade associations offer clarity around complex regulatory issues and set up member taskforces as required on issues impacting the industry.

Knowledge sharing & peer to peer networking: Ibec trade associations offer a full events programme ranging from member forums to topic based events and industry networking opportunities with the opportunity for shared learning and insights.

Industry-led training: Through our 11 Skillnet Networks, 5 Apprenticeships and Springboard projects we collaborate with business to design and deliver programmes that address the current and future, technical and non-technical skills required for their industry.
