Sick Leave Act 2022
The Sick Leave Act 2022 came into operation on the 1 January 2023.
The initial entitlement to statutory sick leave was for up to three days pay for certified illness in a calendar year. This entitlement increased to five days on 1 January 2024. The intention is for the leave to increase as follows:
- 7 days per calendar year in 2025
- 10 days per calendar year in 2026
