€28,000 award to pregnant employee dismissed during probation
This case came before the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) under section 77 of the Employment Equality Act 1998. The claimant commenced employment with the respondent, a family-owned business involved in vehicle sales and maintenance, as a Junior Salesperson on the 3 January 2023. She was dismissed on the 8 May 2023 and claimed that the dismissal arose due to her pregnancy.
