Hamilton Day represents an important celebration of native Dubliner William Rowan Hamilton, one of the world’s greatest mathematicians and credited as one of the founders of modern linear algebra. Every year, Ireland’s universities come together to put forward outstanding nominees from their mathematics departments to be shortlisted for the Hamilton Prize.
