The Irish Medtech is the business association within Ibec representing the medical technology sector. Medical technologies save and transforms lives; they are used for the prevention, diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of diseases and other conditions. Ireland’s global medtech hub is recognised as worldclass with 450 businesses, including 9 of the world’s top 10 already having a base here, and with €13 billion in exports the sector accounts for 8% of Irish exports. Moreover, Ireland stands out in Europe as one of the leading locations for foreign direct investment, and the greatest employer of medtech professionals per capita with 45,000 people working in this cutting-edge industry.

We represent more than 250 members, located throughout the island of Ireland. The group’s broad focus is to promote and support an environment that encourages the sustainable development and profitable growth of our FDI multinational and SME member companies. The Irish Medtech is led by a Board of CEOs and Chief Representatives, it implements its strategy through working groups and taskforces. We also deliver training and upskilling for the MedTech and engineering businesses in Ireland through our apprenticeship and springboard programmes and our Skillnets Networks.
