I get to work with clients from all countries and backgrounds. I enjoy international connectivity required to become a cultural bridge for communication and to deliver the best solutions to reach customer satisfaction. I also have the opportunity to join the HSBC Ireland Embrace committee which promotes cultural diversity.
I helped a global client to setup its international headquarters in Ireland and provided banking solutions to connect their multi country network. I was able bring in resources from North American, Europe and Asian in order to help this client. Where everyone spoke English, being able to understand the cultural differences and bridging cultural gaps has made a significant difference in helping this client to implement their global network.
HSBC has an excellent global platform for international companies. Ireland is a key hub for European and international investments. With 24 nationalities working in HSBC Ireland, it has benefited and continued to be a strong advocate for cultural diversity in Ireland. As an employee, I also enjoyed working with colleagues from all backgrounds, embraced by this positive working environment.
Having been working in the Financial Services sector in Ireland for nearly 20 years, I have experienced first hand the significant changes and improvement in both career path development as well as cultural diversity in this sector. The Irish Financial services sector has a strong reputation internationally. Having efficient operations and strong capabilities is a key factor in driving international clients setting up in Ireland which creates more high value jobs. Companies tend to invest in locations that has a mature banking systems that has well-trained bankers who can understand their global needs.
HSBC prides itself with strong customer centricity and international connectivity. Quite often HSBC is the first call when a customer is entering a new country. Having an internationally diverse workforce brings different skills to the teams. It is also beneficial for clients to work with a team that can communicate in a range of languages.
As an HSBC employee, I feel proud to be able to provide international expertise and resources to a client. I enjoy the journey to hand hold a client over difficult processes, to see them becoming successful and to grow with them. International clients also appreciate this greatly. Seeing a cutting-edge facility being built in Ireland, knowing that I was a part of it, it gives me a great sense of pride.
